We are an outstanding team of professional educators. Our uniqueness shines through in absolute commitment to giving every child a solid ballet education.

Dancers and parents delight in the fact that each and every student of ours is given the same opportunities.

You'll find that we have mastered the art of simplicity and ease for families. It is our goal to give you a seamless, enjoyable and memorable family experience.

It's about the joy of ballet, simply!

Born into a family of entrepreneurs, Mrs. Metcalfe has followed her parents’ passion in owning and operating small businesses. Mrs. Metcalfe has always had a deep passion for the arts and culture.

A graduate of The University of Toronto (Sociology) and The University of San Pablo, Spain (Masters in Broadcasting), Mrs. Metcalfe’s first venture into business was co-owning and operating a private high school in Toronto.  It was at this time, that her passion for children’s education was first inspired.

A mother of four children, Mrs. Metcalfe settled into Whitby in hopes of creating a new business in the Durham region. Upon hearing that Prima Ballet School, a vital dance institution in the Brooklin community, was closing as a result of the pandemic, she was moved to intervene and determined to keep the ballet school open.

Not only is Mrs. Metcalfe over-joyed to be part of Prima Ballet School’s long history, she is honoured to continue to nurture the joy of ballet, dance and theatre performance within our community.

Director of Admission & Operations

Danielle has a wealth of experience in both the business world as well as years of experience in Aid and Development with international children’s charities. Part of her work history includes starting the first volunteer program in Romania which involved the recruitment and training of volunteers from around the world to work with marginalized youth. Danielle worked at both the government and ground level to advocate and change the lives of Romanian orphans and street youth.

Danielle was also one of the first Canadian franchisees of The Body Shop. Having sold her franchise a few years ago, she is ready to drive Prima Ballet School into the future. Danielle has also been a devoted dance mom for the past 13 years as both of her daughters danced competitively.

It is one of my greatest pleasures to see the Prima Dancers grow and develop.  Not only to see their skills improve but to see their confidence grow is an amazing privilege to watch.
