2017 The Nutcracker
“Note of Thanks” from the Artistic Director
Thank you to all for your kind and loving contributions towards the great success of the 8th annual Nutcracker. It has always been our main goal to create a strong sense of a loving and devoted community and family around this production for your children. A strong supportive community will be the greatest legacy we can pass to our young people.
This year’s production was a huge success and has indeed been so very rewarding for not only the Prima community but also the Durham Region and beyond. We feel very grateful that our combined creativity has generated a large support base. Continuing to build this support base will be a crucial element to nurture. We welcome your constructive feedback to continue to grow this production through positive intentions and love for each member of our extended community. We are very proud of our younger dancers who stepped forward to offer themselves and helped us restage parts of the Sunday show when a dedicated dancer was just too ill to perform. We were able to have time to restage 3/4 of the dances and it definitely added an extra truly authentic theatre experience and their teamwork was rewarded. Special congratulations to our newest cast members and volunteers who, through their individual talents bring fresh and new perspectives to this production every year. We welcome everyone.
We wish everyone a new year full of love and kindness. Sincerest and fondest regards, Mrs. K ️
A huge thank you and appreciation to our 2017 Sugar Plum Fairy Sponsors for supporting our 8th annual ballet of The Nutcracker: Brooklin Bulletin Signs, Connie’s Brooklin Village Shoppe, Copper Branch Brooklin, Spoonful of Sugar Cakes & Cookies, The Herbal Pathway.
In addition, Prima Ballet School would like to acknowledge a new guest and blogger, Jackie Morra. Here is her personal review:
Bravo to Prima Ballet’s Nutcracker! During the holiday season I really enjoy sharing moments and creating memories with my family. One of the things I always wanted to do was see a live production of the Nutcracker. I was pleased to find that locally, Prima Ballet School in Brooklin produced an annual presentation of the traditional, classic at the Oshawa Little Theatre. I was very impressed with the choreography and professionalism of the students. It was wonderful to see students from toddlers to teens, performing with such focus and enthusiasm. We loved the stunning and colourful costumes including reindeer, fairies, peacocks, rats, dolls, princesses and of course the Nutcracker Prince. The set design had such attention to detail and provided the perfect backdrop to a wonderful story. The effort of everyone involved definitely does not go unnoticed, bravo to Prima Ballet School for reviving my appreciation of the graceful art of ballet and perhaps the start of a new annual tradition. See you next year! Jackie Morra www.jackiemorrainteriors.com
